silent echoes
east palmdale, ca
2,400 sq/ft
Painted across 120 feet of wall at The Furniture Club, Silent Echoes captures the stillness and beauty of Palmdale’s nocturnal environment. At the center of the mural is a glowing yellow caution sign featuring pronghorn antelopes, a symbol of life’s fleeting moments and the quiet urgency of protecting our natural world. Surrounding this are the native flora and fauna of the Antelope Valley, from desert hares to Joshua trees, which cleverly form the word “Palmdale.” The mural is a visual meditation on biodiversity, change, and community, reminding us to appreciate what surrounds us even when it goes unnoticed. It invites both locals and passersby to pause, reflect, and feel connected to the rhythms of desert life.
local artist collab: yokie
We were proud to collaborate with local artist Yokie, whose deep connection to the Antelope Valley’s high desert landscape is evident in every stroke of his work. Yokie is known for capturing the subtle beauty of native plants and wildlife, and his presence on this project brought a layer of authenticity and care that elevated the mural as a whole. His contribution helped ensure that the ecological story we were telling was not just artistic, but accurate, heartfelt, and grounded in lived experience.
community echoes
The community paint day for Silent Echoes brought out an incredible showing of local support. With music spinning from a local DJ, the atmosphere was vibrant and full of movement. Given the scale of the mural, we needed all hands on deck, and the community showed up ready to help. Families, neighbors, and passersby grabbed brushes and jumped in, transforming the wall one section at a time. The students leading the project did an outstanding job managing such a large mural and guiding volunteers throughout the day. Their leadership kept the energy high and the process flowing smoothly. What could have felt overwhelming became a powerful collective effort that reflected the same themes of unity and care found in the mural itself.
